Turned Off: Tell Sen. Graham He's Wrong

Send Senator Graham a Message

Senator Graham is seeking to tax 85 percent of our energy—the energy we get from coal, oil, and natural gas. This national energy tax, called cap-and-trade, would harm South Carolina’s economy. Current cap-and-trade plans moving through Congress could lead to a loss of 2.4 million jobs nationwide and over 28,000 lost jobs in South Carolina. Gasoline prices could increase by 26 percent and electricity prices could increase by up to 53 percent. With unemployment over 11 percent, now is not the time for a job-killing energy tax. South Carolina residents can take Action by clicking here. Tell Sen. Graham his national energy tax is dead wrong.

In exchange for this new national energy tax, called cap-and-trade, Senator Graham wants to open offshore areas for more energy development. The problem is these offshore areas are open today—the only thing that stands between Americans and increased domestic energy opportunities is the Obama Administration.

Let Senator Graham know you don’t want new energy taxes.
